"'Ever Their praises, and abundance to the Black Goat of the Woods. Iä! Shub-Niggurath! Iä! Shub-Niggurath! The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young!'" [link]
The most frequently mentioned deity among Outer Gods never appears in person in Lovecraft's stories. Only referred t, trough mysterious phrase "Iä! Shub-Niggurath!" by occultists. In one of his letters Lovecraft describes her as "evil, cloud-like entity" Which is the idea I explored, giving it Dunwich Creature like appendages (which is how I pucture outer gods in general) And shape dimly suggesting head of the Baphomet to associate it with her title of "Black Goat"

The Spaniard described her worship as jarring & obnoxious, howled through by people who had forgotten how to speak vocally. Described as something like Astarte (an odious pagan goddess)
