Fortress is also my favorite faction in HOMMIII, and I like this Basilisk.
HOMMIII design their basilisks much like they do in D&D, except that D&D tends to make them look more bulky and with stubbier legs (much like a crocodile), while your HOMM-based design catches more of a swift lizard. There is an interesting expression to its eyes, too.
