Roc, Rukh, Monstrous Bird

Another take on previusly portrayed in unsatysfiyng manner, Roc. Probably most famously known from the Arabian Nights in my interpretation this creature isnt just a giant bird of prey but something a bit more complex; An animal of this size would need enormous amounts of food; It would be impossible for it to feed from hunting only, even if it would devour elephants as some  ancient sources claim it did. Therefore my Roc is more of opportunistic feeder, it's head and neck are featherless like in carrion eating birds, suggesting similar feeding habits. It's beak is shaped more like that of cormorant or other sea bird sugesting fish sea monsters and whales play a part in his menu as well.

Historical sightings of those mighty birds are probably to be "blamed" on Elephant Birds of madagascar which would have been considered it's chicks.
